Biography

Cecilia Cheung Pak Zhi is a Hong Kong actress and cantopop singer. She was born in Hong Kong 24 May 1980. Her father is Chinese and her mother is Chinese-half British. Her parents divorced when she was fourteen years old and live with her aunty in Australia. Then she was educated in Australia, so she’s quite good in English, also Chinese and Cantonese. She has an elder half-sister Dai Pek Chi, two younger brothers and a younger half-brother from her father’s side.

Cecilia was starting her debut in entertainment which discovered after Cecilia’s appearance in a TV soft drink commercial in 1998. She was talent-spotted by Chu Wing Lung, who became her manager until now. Cecilia’s parent was worried to allow Cecilia entering the entertainment industry, but Chu promised taking care Cecilia and ensure that she will be in good.









Cecilia first film was “King of Comedy” debut in comedian Stephen Chow’s 1999 Chinese New Year. Her role was a young night club hostess who experiences an unhappy love affair.
Then she was nominated as “Best New Actress” in Hong Kong awards. Then follow by “Fly Me to Polaris”. Then Cecilia launched her singing career with her first Cantonpop album “Any Weather”.
In 2003 Cecilia won award for Best Actress at the 2004 Hong Kong Film Awards from her role in Derek Yee’s romantic drama “Lost in Time”. Her role was a young woman who lost her fiancĂ© in a traffic accident which left her as a grieving single mother struggling to make ends meet.
